About Me

Hi!
My Name is Yash Puneet and this blog is about my experience learning how to drive in Singapore at the age of 18. After graduating from high school, I had a lot of time on my hands with no deadlines bearing down on me and no work that really needed to be completed. Moreover, I was at the age when I could learn how to drive and obtain a license in Singapore. Thus, I began my journey at the ComfortDelgro Driving Center.

Ever since I began school, learning and trying new things has thrilled me and, over time, the desire to learn new skills and apply them in new situations has driven my life forward. Be it in classes or in daily life, I have always enjoyed being able to form novel connections between seemingly disparate pieces of knowledge that I possess as well as undertaking new projects in which I could test these new connections or ideas. The excitement of novelty has always been one of my greatest motivators and, with a void that needed filling, driving served itself as a new avenue to explore.

Upon beginning my classes, I realized that the requirements to learn how to drive in Singapore were vast and often confusing. Seeing the confused faces of new learner drivers made me realize that I was not the only one who was lost and many people could benefit from having more information as well as a recount of a student's personal experiences. Thus, I found another challenge to undertake, writing for the public on a regular basis. Writing is something I had always found to be inspiring and fun, and this gave rise to this blog, Driving at 18, Obtaining a license in Singapore. I hope this blog helps you on your driving journey and is able to eliminate, of at least ease the anxiety and helplessness one may feel when embarking on their quest to earning their very own Qualified Driver's License!

Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who takes the time to visit and read my blog posts. Though I am sharing my experiences in this blog, one of my main aims is to improve my writing and learn the craft of presenting a message or story to a large audience through writing and all of you, through reading my posts, are helping me learn and improve. So, thank you and I hope you enjoy your time on my blog!
