Practice, Practice, Practice. As for every new skill, no matter how much of the theory you assimilate, no progress can be made without practice. Driving is the same, and I may go as far as saying that this principle applies more so for driving.
A vehicle in the wrong hands can be extremely dangerous, they are essentially metal objects traveling at high speeds. To ensure the safety of all road users, being able to drive safely the most important ability you may possess and this requires one to not only understand the controls of the vehicle and the norms of the roads but also be able to react to unexpected scenarios.
Practical driving lessons allow you to actually drive a vehicle with a certified instructor and, through experience, develop the ability to become a safe driver.
This series of articles describe my experience with practical lessons as well as the practical test providing information about how I felt during each lesson, what I learned, tips to get the most out of each lesson, and finally my take on how to convert the terrifying practical driving test into just another trip on the road!
