The Induction Programme

The Induction Programme, the compulsory lesson that must be taken before any practical driving lessons, serves as your introduction to the Comfort Delgro Driving Center and the cars it uses. Though the programme is listed to be 100 minutes long, it is usually shorter than that and you will be required to wait for your turn in the Induction Room before the instructor takes you to the car, so, bring something to pass your time (a book, for example).

The program itself can be very exciting as, if you are a new driver, this is the first time you will be sitting on the driver's seat of a car. However, to carry forward that excitement, I would suggest booking a lesson immediately after your induction since you don't really get to drive during this session. Wait, you may ask, "What actually happens during the Induction if we don't get to drive?"

Upon entering and checking-in at the front desk, you will be directed to the Induction room, a small garage-like room located within the main car park. This is where you will be needing your book or pass-time activity since you will be waiting at your desk for the instructor to call you to the car. At this point, you will be taken to a Toyota Vios with either a Red (Automatic) or Blue (Manual) number printed on its engine hood and rear bumper. This is where the fun begins, the instructor will tell you to sit in the driver's seat and show you how to adjust the seat according to your height. Once you have accomplished this, you will be shown the controls to adjust your side-mirrors and told the optimal view you should have once they are adjusted. Once have accomplished this, the instructor will run through the rest of the car's internal controls so that you are ready to start driving at the beginning of your next session and ask you to return to and wait in the Induction Room. Once all the students have completed their vehicle introductions, as a group, you will be shown the five locations where your car may be situated and you must report to for every practical lesson. You will also be shown how to check your car-number, its location, and the name of your instructor on the web-app and the kiosk located outside the main office. 

That's it! You are now officially a learner driver at the Comfort Delgro Driving Center and can attend practical driving lessons with an instructor, moreover, you have completed the first three components of the Module 1 Checklist found in your Training Record Book! Get ready to start driving the next time you sit in the driver's seat of a vehicle!
